Butterfly damper is perfect for assembly between the flanges on systems of gas conduit. The standard damper model is designed for activity at pressures of upto 500 mbar, with temperatures of upto 800 C and advisable speeds below 30 m/s. It is a particularly air tight valve with a closing degree of 90% to 99%, which can limit 100% if an air-sealing system is enclosed. The standard model is designed to carry out the assembly in such a manner that the drive shaft stay in a horizontal position. Although, there is an assembly choice with the shaft in a vertical position on request.

Butterfly disc is built flat, with reinforcing ribs, and are backed on two semi-shafts. The flat disc system is perfectly rigid for the work pressures of these valves, and it doesn't have
significant losses. 

These two-way dampers have utility of controlling the gases passage circulating in the conduit. They are made up of a disc shutter or disc, which turns on two semi-shafts. The butterfly dampers are usually supplied as a single part, except for uses in which the unit dimensions require special transport.

Seal Design:  There are two types of butterfly seal design. Depending on the application, the choices are: swingthru (90 97% closure) for situations with dust concentrations < 1000 mg/Nm3; and step seat (99% closure) suited for applications requiring a high air tightness level.

Construction: Standard construction includes diameters ranging from 150 mm to 2000 mm; and on request, bigger sizes can be constructed.

Bearings: There is a supply of butterflies with bearings, set on the outside and isolated from the packing. As a result, they are kept away from sources of corrosion and heat thus increasing their utile life. Also, this system allows for the changing of the packing without removal of the bearings, which make future maintenance simpler.
